The Barn at Hill House is the result of a labour of love by the owners and an appreciation of 110 year old farming architecture and a celebration of dairy farming in the Eerwah Valley.
This restored old dairy combines rustic charm with contemporary style and comfort in a rural setting. With views of the rolling hills and nearby Mount Eerwah and Mount Cooroy, it’s not hard to see why this place was rated Top 10 places to stay by.....
A relaxing private getaway not far from Eumundi, The Barn is everything a farm shack should be and more. Saying it’s a unique stay is an understatement with a fire under the stars and a cast iron bath in the trees, it’s taking rustic charm to a whole new level.
One whole side of this barn opens completely up letting the good clean country air in along with the surrounding rolling meadows.
Inside, The Barn includes a kitchen with quality appliances and commercial cook-on oven and a living area with comfy old leather couches and a glass fronted slow burning wood heater.
The biggest OMG moment is the separate Bath House with semi outdoor show and a completely open wrought iron bath and I can’t forget to mention the composting loo with (much more than) a view! There is no “ if it’s yellow let it mellow, if it’s brown, flush it down” moments with this loo.... just sayin.
The master bedroom is complete with a Queen sized bed, beautiful linen, romantic canopy and hand crafted timber furniture, it’s enough to make you want to collapse in bed while watching the country landscape outside.
Additional to the main bedroom is a double sized daybed off the living area and if you want to bring the tin lids (kids) there is a king single bed off the living area too.
Enjoy the sunset and capture the sun filtering through the trees in the courtyard as you enjoy a cup of tea under the Bunya trees.
Once the sun goes down, you can head over onto the lawn which as a stone fire circle where you can have an open fire to sit around under the stars, toast some marshmallows and tell campfire stories.
While The Barn has a unique charm and character and is a fantastic place to spend a few days or a week, expect it to be a little different to a normal farm stay.
It’s a recycled barn with lots of recycled materials and elements and a tin roof. In the summer months it can get hot in the middle of the day but it cools down beautifully by sundown.
From the moment you step through the creaky wooden door, you will be awe inspired by the creativity, design and rustic country charm that this little barn. Every style detail, picture, book and design has been thoughtfully created to make your stay an enjoyable one.
