    NEW RENOVATE OR DETONATE SERIES

    October 20, 2020 / 0 Comments

WATCH THE SERIES HERE Click Here 5 bedrooms, 2 studies, 3 bathrooms, 2 lounge rooms, 2 kitchens, 2 decks and a council order to fix it or they’ll tear it down! This home may look fine from the outside but unfortunately none of the back extension done by the previous owners has been council approved nor has it been built to building code. With a council enforcement notice in place, I’ve got to make this house a home. It’s challenge after challenge, one gruesome discovery after the other. I’ve been tasked with transforming this condemned house not far from Noosa, in the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland. It has major structural…

    October 20, 2020 / 0 Comments

With the year we’ve had so far… mental health and mindfulness has never been more important than right now. Whether it’s the stresses of the COVID-related work from home juggle, new financial worries, pressure on relationships or social isolation, most of us have now experienced some level of anxiety. Our hope is that with a greater understanding and ability to relate to these feelings, we’ll all find it easier to talk with others, seek help when needed and ultimately remove the stigma around mental health. 6 Ways to Boost Your Property’s Value

    October 20, 2020 / 0 Comments

Australia has experienced one of the longest ‘bull runs’ in the country’s property value history, and even though COVID-19 restrictions have tempered growth, so far we’ve only seen incremental declines in home values – apart from the luxury price ranges. We’ve had some very good price increases in most state capitals, particularly over the past 5 years. For a lot of Australians that’s meant it’s a great time to sell your home and take advantage of those gains. Regardless of whether you’re considering sprucing your property up for a quick sale, putting a few things in place to add value for later, or simply getting ‘spring ready’ to make your…

8 Tips For Styling Your Home This Spring

    October 2, 2020 / 2 Comments

With most of us having spent a significant amount of time within our own four walls this winter, we’ve had plenty of time to dream and get inspired about our home-style, creature comforts, and interiors. Being in real estate for over 20 years, I get to see interior trends first-hand; and the one clear styling trend I have seen stand-out for 2020 is colours, styling and furnishing all created and tastefully put together around ‘mindfulness’.   Our homes are a refuge from the stresses of the outside world (and now more than ever before), so bringing a sense of serenity to your home this spring will give you a much-needed…

Summer Bodies are Made in Winter

    August 11, 2020 / 0 Comments

If you’re feeling like the past few months have resulted in a lot more ‘lounging around’, then you’re probably not the only one. For a lot of us, ‘staying at home’ has meant exactly that – a lot of ‘couch and PJ time’, often at the expense of our fitness, general health and wellbeing. For some of us, it has also been challenging to resist the temptation to over-indulge with easy access to unhealthy snacks and beverages and the fact that when you are bored, you eat! In our defence, cold rainy days have made getting outside less appealing – but have no fear, warm sunshine will be upon us…

5 Tips to Puppy Proof your Home

    August 10, 2020 / 0 Comments

Moving into a new home is an emotional time. After being squashed into a place that was ‘just what you can afford’ for so long, now you have space and permission to do what you like and really make it your own. Once things are unpacked, the pictures hung and your new neighbourhood explored, it’s not uncommon to start to feel like something is missing. Maybe it doesn’t feel quite as much like ‘home’ as you were expecting, or maybe you are ready to take the next step and care for someone else now. A new baby may be too much of a commitment, but a pet can be ‘just…

Renovation Ideas to Increase Your Property Value

    August 8, 2020 / 0 Comments

When the time comes to sell your home, it’s a good idea to freshen up the place a little. Some simple home renovations can improve the overall property value and ensure you get the best price when you sell.  Curbside Appeal Improves First Impressions The first thing to consider with any property is what kind of first impression it gives. Think about what improvements can be made at the front of the house to start with – the fencing, the garden, the entry – then move inside and make a list of what could be updated from room to room. Base your decisions on what you think will improve the…

Time for a Tree or Sea Change?

    August 6, 2020 / 0 Comments

Since March 2020, we have seen a giant shift in how we work, commute, and live due to stay at home government restrictions. As these restrictions adjust and vary around the country, many of us have found we can still do our jobs well, if not better, from home – and are enjoying the change, as well as the opportunities that have come from working where we live. This raises the logical question: If you can now work from home, shouldn’t you make your home as liveable as possible? And, if so, why not move to the best place possible to live well? Australia is indeed the lucky country. We…

How to sell your house in the Covid-19 environment

    July 29, 2020 / 0 Comments

Timing is everything – as they say – and for those selling, or about to sell their houses, earlier this year the COVID-19 pandemic raised a unique set of challenges. Should you keep it on the market, or take a break and wait until later in the year? If you choose to sell now, open homes and auctions are allowed so at least that part is easy. Of course, the most important question is, ‘if you sell now, will you get the price you’re looking for?’ In March everyone’s head was abuzz with such questions. Now, as we approach mid-year, many of those questions have been answered and there is…

  • There is a dome in a land far away that sits on 9,000 acres of pure Australian countryside—aptly named Far Away Domes. It's 5-star luxury accommodation without the resort surroundings or other resort guests. There is just one dome sitting in the middle of the bush, it may not be in a resort, but it has all the luxuries of a 5-star hotel ( minus the room service).

If you're up for a drive, then set your compass to north-western NSW, just 4 1/2 hours from Brisbane to Warialda, Place of Wild Honey, to a farm called Willunga. With a population of only 1300 people, Warialda is a nature lover's playground. But it's what's on 9,000 acres that had me heading to this rural country town.

  • Knowing I had a 6 hour drive ahead of me to my mini vaycay, I decided to download @officiallymcconaughey ‘s #greenlights to listen to along the way.

Like a bolt of lightning, this passage hit me and I haven’t stopped thinking about his words for days. They go like this:

Get rid of the excess… the wasted time. Decrease your options, and if you do this, you will have accidentally—almost innocently—put in front of you, what is important to you by process of elimination.

Too many options make a tyrant out of any of us, so we should get rid of the excess in life that keep us from being more of ourselves. When we decrease the options that don’t feed us, we eventually, almost accidentally, have more options in front of us that do.
Knowing who we are is hard. Eliminate who we’re not, first, and we’ll find ourselves where we need to be. - #matthewmcconaughey Greenlights

YES, this has resonated with me, these words my wake up call, and so it shall be.
  • Who says you can’t go off the beaten track in comfort and style! Took the GLC for a little bit of clean country air and dirt/off road fun when I decided to go for a mid week getaway.

📝 to self: book your complementary car wash at @mercedesbenz_sunshinecoast upon return to Sunshine Coast.

Gotta love being a Mercedes Benz Sunshine Coast customer, free car wash 🧼! I think they’re going to have to bring out the gurney for this one 🤣. #sorrynotsorry
  • The view from the deck of @farawaydomes is absolutely breathtaking. There you are, in a bubble, looking over 9,000 acres of pure Australian country. Not a person in sight, not a sound to hear except the sounds of the wind in the trees and the birds chirping in the trees. It’s purely and utterly serene.
  • “You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.” Yeehaw 🤠
  • Morning coffee at Far Away Domes. Watching the sunrise 🌅 on another spectacular day.
  • Mornings go a little something like this... what a way to start the day. I’m doing a little sneaky mid week getaway to a place north-west of NSW. With land as far as the eye can see and not a soul in sight, it’s the perfect place to escape the hustle of the city and truly appreciate a little bit of country. It’s aptly named Far Away Dome and it’s heaven on earth.
  • My obligatory boots and bath shot.
I’m off on a mini vaycay to a place far far away. You’re about to get travel envy, but first... bath time.
